 THE PROJECT

THE PROJECT

Peekskill Safe & Strong consists of a group of concerned residents that reside in the vicinity of 851 Washington St, the proposed location for the relocation of the Jan Peak Homeless shelter. This group was formed not out of opposition of a homeless shelter, however, we oppose the relocation to a heavily residential area.

IS 851 WASHINGTON ST. AN APPROPRIATE LOCATION FOR A HOMELESS SHELTER

  • Housing approx. 50 adults and providing drug/alcohol counseling, referrals, meals and activities for these people 24/7 365 days a week?

  •  Has a history of significant police & EMT activity at their current location (200 north water st)?

  •  Accepts adults with emotional issues, drug & alcohol dependencies and sex offenses

  •  Residents that are kicked out are left to fend for themselves—many times at night when no buses are running and sadly become a public nuisance.

PSS is opposed to this location. A suitable
location must be selected
